Feasibility Studies and Reports

Review of existing data and documentation for land, road and bridge sections, further inspections, planning and monitoring, investigations, testing, calculations, analyses required to undertake or check detailed engineering design.

Topographic Surveys

Topographic surveys are carried out including cross-section along the project road as well as the proposed alignment section and bridge site.

Hydrogeology and Geological Surveys

Hydrological and geological surveys⁄studies for all minor and major drainage structures with careful analysis of available hydro-meteorological data supplemented by detailed field hydrological inspection⁄survey. Photo geological studies to determine major structural and geomorphic features, geological mapping of soil, rock and ground water features observed on the ground. Identification of services of borrow, aggregate and other materials necessary for the construction of the project.

Geotechnical Survey and Investigations

Carry out investigatory bore holes, drill holes and soil types present its strength, groundwater conditions, detailed materials soils investigations along new road alignments to identify the varying soils types, comprehensive pavement evaluation and design, slope stability analysis.

Preparation of Detailed Engineering Plans

Carry out field surveys, geological survey, geotechnical investigation and slope stability analysis, road alignment and pavement evaluation, hydrological and drainage surveys, existing structures survey, detail design, preparation of contract plans, quantities, special provisions (specification for the environmental mitigation measures), unit price analysis, government estimates, tender documents and process, supervision and remedial works.

Project Management

Perform all works necessary to attain satisfactorily the objectives set out in the Terms of Reference of the Contract for detailed engineering design and construction supervision stages of the project. Coordinate and cooperate fully with the concerned agencies of the Government the progress and status of the project on a regular progress basis.

Quantity Survey

Quantity Survey includes tacheometric mapping, centerline stakeout, bench marks and bench mark levels, centerline profile and cross-sections, road⁄bridge location survey, culvert locations, type⁄size, invert elevations and water course profile, location and description of all cultivated and natural details of significance to road location, design and construction.

Cost Estimates and Analyses

A detailed analysis of all applicable unit prices for the contract using current cost indices, rental rates, etc. are made. Unit prices indicate the foreign and local component cost.

Preparation of Contract Documents and Specifications

Prepare and adopt the Standard Documents for each contract package tender documents consistent with Sample Bidding Documents and the Guidelines for Procurement: Proposal Book containing the Instructions to Bidders, the Bid Form, the Bill of Quantities and the sample forms of the required Annexes; Technical Specifications consisting of two (2) parts, the DPWH Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges as Part I and the Special Provisions for items not covered by Part I and II, Conditions of Contract consisting of two parts - Part I General Conditions of Contract and Part 2 Conditions of Particular Application and Construction Drawings.

Construction and Site Supervision

Perform the duties in accordance with the acceptable criteria and standards applicable to improvement works and exercise the powers vested as the “Engineer” under the Government’s contract with the Contractors awarded with improvement work as defined in the Standard Specifications for Highways, Bridges and Airports. Full authority to direct, oversee and revise the work as needed and as defined in the General Conditions of Contract.

Technical Assistance and Advisory Services

Assist in the road⁄bridge condition survey, identification of road sections⁄bridges, supplemental topographic survey, supplemental soils⁄geotechnical survey, compilation⁄redesign of identified road sections⁄bridges, cost⁄quantity estimates, preparation of tender documents, environmental impact study, preparation of implementation program. Provide advisory to the client for any obstruction and⁄or problems in the project site, i.e. presence of squatters, fauna and flora habitat, etc.
